Abstract
Skull osteomas are benign bone-forming tumors of lamellar bone, mainly developed in the frontal-ethmoid region. In the
temporal bone, the external auditory canal is the most common involving area, but rarely present in mastoid bone, inner ear canal and middle ear. In the literature, the first publication of mastoid osteoma was made in 1887 by Adam Politzer, in his book£»since then, about 100 isolated cases of this benign tumor have been published. Mastoid osteoma has a slow growing nature and usually ept stable for several years. So, most of them remain asymptomatic, sometimes it may cause symptomatic or cosmetic problems. Here we will present a symptomatic case of mastoid osteoma and characteristic features with literature review.
